Robert and Gigi

Robert and Gigi perform at more than 70 sing-along shows a year at Burlington’s Fletcher Free Library and they are regulars at many popular music festivals in the area. Robert Resnik has been part of Vermont’s music scene for more than 30 years and he has provided music programs for young children and their parents since the early 1990s. Sales of his 1998 album with fellow librarian Carol Scrimgeour, Like the Birdies Sing, helped raise more than $3,000 for children’s programming at Fletcher Free Library, where he is employed as co-director. Robert hosts Vermont Public Radio’s All the Traditions folk music show on Sunday afternoons. Gigi Weisman began playing music with Resnik as a volunteer in 1997, and appears with the others on a Fletcher Free Library recording released in November 2000 called A Little Bit Jumbled and Jivey. Gigi is an expert on creating programming for children with autism spectrum disorders and other abilities and disabilities. Their most recent collaborative, Sweet Potatoes and Homegrown Tomatoes, was released in August 2004.

The City of Burlington adopted the City of Moss Point after Hurricane Katrina and wanted to support and create projects to help the community recover. The duo and their home library system chose a project close to their hearts—a gift of music CDs and children's music programs at the Moss Point Library.
